NOPE helps you quit smoking. That takes trust, so here is exactly what we collect, why, and what we will never do with it.

What we collect

Email address — to sign you in (one-time codes; we never store passwords) and to send those codes.
Quit profile — what you enter during onboarding: first name or alias, cigarettes per day, pack price, years smoking, your quit date, triggers, and what's holding you back.
Progress events — cigarettes you log, cravings you record (including optional journal notes), and milestones you reach.
Timezone and a push token — so daily affirmations arrive at sensible local times, if you allow notifications.
Subscription status — trial/active/expired, received from Apple or Google via RevenueCat. We never see your payment details; the app stores handle all billing.

What we use it for

Running your taper plan and showing your stats, savings, and recovery timeline.
Generating your three daily personalized affirmations (processed by an AI model running on our infrastructure — your data is not used to train anyone's models).
Sending sign-in codes and, with your permission, supportive notifications.
Keeping your progress safe so it survives a lost or new phone.

What we never do

We never sell your data. Not to anyone, not in aggregate, not ever.
We never show ads or share your data with advertisers or data brokers.
We never use your data to train AI models.
We collect no location, no contacts, no health-kit data, and no tracking identifiers across other apps.

Who touches your data

Only the infrastructure needed to run the service: Cloudflare (hosting and AI processing), a managed PostgreSQL database, Brevo (delivers sign-in emails), RevenueCat (subscription status), and Expo (push notification delivery). Each receives only what it needs to do its job.

This website

Separately from the app, quitwithnope.com uses Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which pages and links people use. Google Analytics sets cookies and receives your IP address, approximate location, device and browser type, and the pages you view on this site; IP addresses are anonymised by Google before storage. We use it only in aggregate, to understand which marketing works — it is never joined to your NOPE account, and we do not use it for advertising or remarketing. This site also loads the Nunito typeface from Google Fonts, which means Google receives your IP address when a page loads.

You can opt out with Google's browser opt-out add-on, by blocking cookies for this site, or by using your browser's tracking protection. Analytics runs on this website only — the NOPE app itself contains no analytics SDK and no advertising SDK.

Retention & deletion

Your data is kept while your account exists. Delete your account any time in the app (More → Danger zone → Delete account) — this permanently and immediately erases your account, profile, history, journals, and affirmations from our servers. You can also email us and we'll do it within 30 days.

Health disclaimer

NOPE offers behavioral support, not medical care. Recovery timelines shown in the app are drawn from published public-health sources (CDC, U.S. Surgeon General) and are estimates, not medical advice.

Children

NOPE is for adults quitting smoking and is not directed at children under 18.
