"Twelve days of showing up for yourself. Your lungs noticed before you did."
Craving right now
How it works

No willpower cliff. A gentle slope.

You don't quit on day one. You quit on the day you chose — and every day until then gets a little lighter.

STEP 01

Tell us where you are

Cigarettes per day, cost, years smoking, and what's really holding you back. Two minutes, zero judgment.

STEP 02

Follow your taper

A daily allowance that shrinks toward zero by your quit date. Tap a cigarette to log it — it burns down, honestly. Smoked over? Log it anyway. The plan bends, it doesn't break.

STEP 03

Reach zero — and watch yourself heal

From your quit day forward, NOPE shows your body recovering in real time and celebrates every milestone like the win it is.

Everything you need

Built for the hard moments,
not just the good days.

A plan that reaches zero

Your allowance steps down day by day. If a rough patch hits, NOPE offers a recalibration — never a guilt trip.

SOS breathing room

Craving? One tap opens a matte-black room with a guided breathing orb. Most cravings pass in three minutes — we'll breathe through them with you.

Affirmations written for you

Three a day, generated from your own journey — your streak, your triggers, your wins — delivered morning, midday, and evening.

Your lungs, live

An anatomical view of your recovery plus what's happening in your body right now — heart rate, circulation, taste, lung function — on the clinical timeline.

Money back in your pocket

Every cigarette you don't smoke is counted — money saved and life regained, ticking up in real time on your Today screen.

Celebrations that feel earned

Confetti cannons for every milestone — first smoke-free day, first week, first hundred saved. You did the hard thing. The app should act like it.

The SOS room

Cravings pass.
We'll wait with you.

Breathe first — about a minute of guided 4-7-8 breathing. Then, and only then, you choose: "I won this one" or "I smoked one anyway." Both are honest. Both keep you on the plan.

Questions

Straight answers.

What is NOPE?

NOPE is a quit-smoking app for iPhone and Android that helps you taper off cigarettes instead of quitting cold turkey. You tell it how much you smoke and pick a quit date; NOPE builds a daily cigarette allowance that steps down to zero by that date, gives you a one-tap breathing room for cravings, and shows your body's recovery from your last cigarette onward.

Does tapering work better than quitting cold turkey?

Both work, and the honest answer is that the research is mixed — large trials have found abrupt quitting to be at least as effective as gradual reduction for people who are ready to stop immediately. NOPE exists for the much larger group who aren't: people who have tried cold turkey, failed, and won't attempt it again. A plan you'll actually follow beats a method you'll abandon on day two. Talk to your doctor or a quitline about which approach fits you, and about medication like nicotine replacement therapy, which improves the odds of either approach.

How much does NOPE cost?

NOPE is free to download and costs $4.99 per month or $49.99 per year after a 7-day free trial. The annual plan works out to about $4.17 a month. Billing is handled by Apple or Google, subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel, and you can cancel any time from your device's subscription settings.

Is there a free version of NOPE?

There's a 7-day free trial with every feature unlocked, but no permanently free tier. Your subscription pays for the AI that writes your daily affirmations and keeps the app ad-free with no data selling.

How long do nicotine cravings last?

An individual craving usually peaks and passes within three to five minutes, even though it feels much longer. That's why NOPE's SOS room opens with roughly a minute of guided 4-7-8 breathing before it asks you anything — most cravings are already fading by the time the breathing ends. Cravings become less frequent over the first few weeks after your quit date.

What happens if I smoke more than my daily allowance?

You log it and nothing bad happens. NOPE has no streak-shaming and no lockout — going over just recalibrates the plan. Logging honestly is what makes the taper math work, so the app is designed to make an over-limit day cheap to admit.

What is the SOS breathing room?

It's a full-screen craving tool you reach with one tap. A slow-pulsing orb paces about a minute of guided 4-7-8 breathing (inhale four counts, hold seven, exhale eight) with gentle haptics. Only afterwards does it ask what happened — "I won this one" or "I smoked one anyway" — and either answer keeps you on the plan.

Does NOPE replace nicotine patches, gum, or medication?

No. NOPE is behavioral support, not a medical device, and it does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. It works alongside nicotine replacement therapy or prescription cessation medication — ask your doctor or a quitline (1-800-QUIT-NOW in the US) about combining them.

What data does NOPE collect, and do you sell it?

We never sell your data and never use it to train AI models, and the app is ad-free. NOPE collects your email address for sign-in, the quit profile you enter during onboarding, the cigarettes and cravings you log, your timezone and push token for notifications, and your subscription status. No location, no contacts, no health-record data, no cross-app tracking identifiers. Full detail is in the Privacy Policy.

How do I cancel my subscription or delete my account?

Cancel in your store settings: on iPhone, Settings → your name → Subscriptions → NOPE; on Android, Play Store → profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → NOPE. To delete your account and all its data, open the More tab in the app and use the account deletion option; deletion is permanent. Step-by-step help is on the support page.

Which devices does NOPE work on?

NOPE runs on iPhone and on Android phones — check the current minimum OS version on the App Store or Google Play listing. There is no web or desktop version. Your progress is stored on your device and synced to our servers, so it survives a lost or replaced phone.
